For my project, I created a google form about the usefulness, benefits and disadvantages of body cameras. After that, I sent a public records request to every county in California to inquire about their utilization of body worn cameras in their police departments. I got over 100 responses to my form, from various people working in law enforcement. (Police Chiefs, Record Supervisors, Sergeant, Lieutenant, etc.)
The data I collected was very motivating in empowering the effectiveness and practicality of body worn cameras.
One of my questions asked, “Are body worn cameras useful?”
Of the 116 responses I got to this question, every single officer said yes.
